Reflection on Social Media Case 10: Miracle Mattress Twin Tower Sale

Everyone sleeps, so everyone in America owns, or has owned a mattress in their lifetime. That is why there is such a big market for mattresses. The mattress industry is a very competitive industry. There are so many mattress stores and they are all trying to win you over. Whether it is by advertisements or by selling it in person, mattress stores are always trying to increase sales in whatever way possible. I am trying to figure out how these people didn’t take into account how offensive this video may be to some people? There is no way to get around what they did. 9/11 is a topic in our history that is no joking matter, and even if they claimed to be honoring 9/11 nobody took it that way. What the company did do good is they owned up to their actions and took full responsibility for what had happened. https://www.snopes.com/news/2016/09/08/texas-mattress-911-ad/ I do not think this company should be shut down after one mistake, because we all make mistakes in this world.  Especially when the owner claims that he had no idea the video was being made it would be unfair to have their business shut down. I think his daughter and the other two guys in the video should not be allowed to work there anymore and the employees should make sure to run everything through the owner for now on. 9/11 is no joking matter in the USA, and this video was wrong in so many ways. These people probably came from a different background and did not realize the effects 9/11 had on so many people in our country. It is no excuse for what they did but I think it is something we have to take into account.
